SEARCH FROM THE DATABASE
There are two searches in use, which function in a different way. These different search modes are based on boolean logic and relevance sorting.

RELEVANCE SORTING
In the search which is based on the relevance sorting the applicant can write the words of the normal language consecutively, without separate search commands. A sorted list is obtained according to a probable relevance as a result articles, your search request, in which case the corresponding articles are presented on the list as the best ones first.

BOOLEAN SEARCH
Search terms in the search which is based on the Boolen logic, one must join with the operators' (for example AND, OR) help. If you want to search for articles about the horse cabs from Tampere, this kind of a search is indicated: tampere AND horse AND cabs. The result is those articles in which all words occur. Such articles will not be found where only one of the words in question is found in.

SEARCH OF CONSECUTIVE WORDS
Also the phrase search, in other words the search of consecutive words is possible by making in the apostrophes the phrase which is searched. For example 'pyhäjärvi lake'. The phrases can be simultaneously used with normal search terms: for example 'hugo simberg *' and cathedral.
